A little Ikea can go a long way, too much can make a space feel like a dorm room. Here are a few of my favorite things that help stretch a budget…
A cow is a cow is a cow… why pay a lot if you don’t have too? A hide helps break up the hard lines of a room.
Koldby cowhide rug $199.

Ikea is great for well priced natural fiber rugs. Again, this is a product that doesn’t “look Ikea” and can be used a layering piece for a smaller rug or hide.
The Tarnby $149 for the 6’7” x 9’10” rug.

And here are these rugs in action at the home of my dear friend Jason Martin. Beautiful, right? And not at all an “Ikea” space.

I love wood hangers! They offer more support for your clothes and it makes me feel fancy to have all matching hangers.
Bumerang hangers $3.99 per 8 pack

Floating shelves to me are about the same for the most part, so why spend more than $14.99 per Lack shelf? They’re so neutral they lend themselves to whatever you put on them.

How great are these rattan planters? A pair flanking a fireplace is so chic. They have a removable plastic liner so you can use them as storage too.
Ragkorn Plant Pot $29.99 for the large.

Ikea has great bar ware in general, but my current obsessions are these Sommarfint flamingo rocks glasses $.99 and pineapple doubles glasses $1.49. I appreciate the low price as I insist on using real glasses even though my dog insists on breaking them.
